Parma young left back Isaac Annan continue to earn the admiration of fans
Ghanaian born Italian left back Isaac Annan has earned the admirations of fans who troop in week-in week-out to watch him play for Parma 1913 U15 in Italy.
It’s not just his intelligent use of the ball, the maturity and the composure; but most importantly the understanding he’s developed together with his teammates at the back and his link-up combination in the attack.
Isaac understands that defending is about team effort and most importantly communication, and he does a pretty good job in this respect. The effort he shows in the defensive phase of the game is astonishing. His ability to recover when his team loses possession is a part of his game. Raiding down the left side of flank with great interplay.
“Anytime I surge forward with the ball into the opponents half, I have to quickly get back when we lose possession. And at training we always work out on how we can protect each other’s space anytime one makes a move forward. “According to Isaac.
Because of his surging runs and crossing prowess, he is assigned the role of taking charge of set-piece situations. Isaac has got character and discipline. He knows precisely when and how to make tackles and interceptions. Not one you would occasionally find his name in the record books of referees
“Taking free kicks is the part that I love most. I’m always practising to perfect that aspect of my game. I think I’m very good with crosses. I’m improving on my tackles every day in training in order to avoid injuries, sometimes I go in too hard, but not hard enough to earn a booking.
He’s made five appearances for Parma; lasting every single minute of the games whiles contributing significantly in the attack. He has provided two assists so far from crosses. Isaac was nurtured at Arsenal, a local youth club in Parma, where he was born.
Isaac speaks of his admiration for Brazilian and Juventus left back Alex Sandro, who he spends a lot of time watching videos to perfect his art of defending.
“I like Alex Sandro a lot, especially how he is able to bend in crosses. He is very calm anytime he has the ball and very confident going forward. I learn a lot from his defending too.”
